Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities planned to develop Egypt New Administrative Capital Central Business District Project in Cairo, Egypt. China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd was the EPC contractor. The project had 2 phases that covered a total of 3500000 sq.m floor area, and 40 buildings. Phase 1 covered the construction of 505000 sq.m total land area, 1700000 sq.m total floor area, a total of 20 buildings (12 office towers, 5 residential towers, 2 hotel towers, a 385-meter land-mark tower), and other supporting facilities. Phase 2 covered the construction of a total floor area of 1800000 square meter and 20 commercial & residential buildings (office buildings, hotels, high-end apartments, shopping mall, stadium, entertainment facilities), and a green belt in river shape. Upon completion, the project would become a core area with the most commercial value and the best urban functions in the new administrative capital. This was an important project under both Belt & Road Initiative and Egypt's Vision 2030.
