Background

Government of Myanmar planned to develop Myanmar National Center of Disease Control & Medical Training Center Project, in Naypyitaw, Naypyidaw Union Territory, Myanmar. Institute of Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Co Ltd was the design contractor of the project. The project covered the construction of a 18100 square meter center which includes a CDC building, training building, administrative office building, outdoor engineering and laboratory equipment. China will also provide two-year technical cooperation to train relevant medical and technical personnel for Myanmar. The implementation of this project will help the people of Myanmar realize their dream of having an internationally advanced disease control center and training center, help Myanmar improve the level of biosafety scientific research, enhance the ability of epidemic prevention and control, deepen China-Myanmar and multilateral health cooperation, and effectively respond to Major public health incidents including the new crown pneumonia will better implement Myanmar's health development goals and protect people's lives and health. The project will become Myanmar's disease control center with the highest level of specialization and modernization. It will play an important role in scientific research, epidemic prevention, emergency response, and personnel training, so that the project will benefit the people of Myanmar, and help the construction of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
