Government of Mozambique planned to develop Beira Fishing Port Repairing Project, in Beira, Sofala, Mozambique. China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd was the main contractor. The project covered the construction of 8 berth with 377 m long shoreline. and a new 5000 square meter cold storage on the dock. The project also covered two warehouses, ice-making workshops and supporting facilities such as power supply, water supply and drainage and fire protection. The construction period was 24 months. With a bigger area and a triple storage capacity, the port was estimated to bring 100 million U.S. dollars in revenues per year. The project would help Mozambique improve seafood capture and product quality, and promote domestic consumption and export earnings.
