Background

Hydrofiji Pty Ltd planned to develop 32 MW Viti Levu Hydropower Project, in Viti Levu, Western, Fiji. China Gezhouba Group Co Ltd was the EPC contractor of the project, the contract value was about USD$ 102 million. The project covered the construction of a 32 MW hydroelectric power plant with three small hydropower stations. The development and construction of the project will speed up the construction of the Fiji National Grid, ease the tension in Fijis electricity demand, and provide clean and renewable energy for the development of Fijis industrial and agricultural production and tourism, as well as peoples daily electricity consumption.
