NPP - New Doha Port

Also known as: New Hamad Port


The New Port Project Steering Committee (NPP) plans to develop a new port in Economic Zone number 3, Al Wakra, south of Mesaieed area, Qatar. The New Doha port will spread over a land area of 26.5 sq. km and will be developed in 3 phases. Phase 1 will include excavation works, dredging works, a harbor basin and general cargo berths. Phase 2 will include the dredging of an access channel leading to the new port. Phase 3 will include a container terminal, berths, an administration, customs complex, a tug and pilot boats berth area. In addition, the project will cover 2 packages of port buildings and infrastructure works. The new port will be linked to the mainland by an 8.5 Km long trestle bridge. Upon completion, the new port will have a capacity of 12,000,000 TEU with other related facilities. QTerminals, an independent company comprising of JV of Qatar Port Management Company (Mwani) and Milaha will manage the new hamad port.
