3000000 t/y Vientiane Refinery Project



Lao Petroleum & Chemical Co Ltd, a China-Laos joint venture, planned to develop 3000000 t/y Vientiane Refinery Project, in the Saysettha Comprehensive Development Zone, Vientiane, Laos. Yunnan Construction & Investment Holding Group Co. Ltd. (YCIHC), a subsidiary of Yunnan Provincial Overseas Investment Co. Ltd. (YOIC; 75%), Lao State Fuel Co. (20%), and Lao-China Joint Venture Investment Co. Ltd. (5%) were the shareholders for the project. The project covered the construction of a three million tons/year refinery with 28.3 hectare area. The project would be developed in 3 phases. The capacity of first phase would reach one million tons per year. The project was Laos' first refinery and would effectively fill the gap in the petrochemical industry in Laos.This petroleum refinery project would help reduce fuel imports and cut oil prices in domestic market
