Dubai: The Sustainable City - the Middle East’s first fully-fledged sustainable development, hosts the Grand Finale of the Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East 2019, the region’s biggest electric vehicle road trip organised by Global EVRT.

Over 60 road trippers will complete an adventurous trail covering over 2,000 kilometres in eight days across the UAE and Oman to culminate their tour to highlight the message of electric mobility at The Sustainable City, Dubai this Thursday the 24th of January.

Bigger, better and more sustainable than its previous editions, the Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East 2019 will conclude with a colourful ceremony with the participants sharing their experiences, and visitors having the opportunity to test drive from a range of electric cars including the Renault Zoe, Chevrolet Bolt EV and Tesla Model S & X as well as electric scooters. Adding to the excitement is a live DJ set by Mark Shakedown, brought by Anghami, bouncy castle, face painting and artist performances.

At the event, the third eMobility Forum, will be held as part of the Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East 2019, where the findings of the region’s largest ever electric vehicle survey on end-user’s opinions, perceptions and experiences of electric vehicles will be shared. The Electric Vehicle Road Trip had connected three eMobility Forums – the earlier two held in Abu Dhabi and Muscat - to educate and inspire the transformation to sustainable travel.

Faris Saeed, CEO of Diamond Developers – the property and real estate developer behind The Sustainable City – said: “Hosting the Grand Finale of the event perfectly underlines our commitment to a sustainable future and our focus on promoting electric mobility that is more environmentally friendly and cost-effective. We will continue to support initiatives that help transform the sustainability landscape and encourage the concept of ‘green living’ – across all aspects of one’s lifestyle. At The Sustainable City, Dubai, we already promote electric vehicle and have set up electric vehicle charging stations, which marks our support to the green vision of the UAE and the Dubai Plan 2021 to establish Dubai as a smart, sustainable city that enhances the quality of life of all residents.”

The Electric Vehicle Road Trip Middle East 2019 kicked off from the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) at ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre) on January 17. The participants toured the capital city and also took part in the first-ever EV Drag Race at the Yas Marina Circuit, before embarking on the 8-day adventure on Chevrolet Bolt EV, Renault Zoe and Teslas. Several influencers and members of the media including Khalid Al Ameri, Salama Mohamed, Arabian Gazelles, Dolores Shelleh, The National, YallaMotor, Motorgeeks…, were part of the epic adventure
