Kingdom of Bahrain - Manama [11 June 2015]

Takaful International, a leading Islamic insurance company welcomed The General Secretariat team from the Supreme Council for Women to Takaful headquarters located in Seef district; their visit was to highlight the theme for Bahraini Women's Day celebrations which fell on 1st December. The main focus for 2015 is to recognize and appreciate women who have contributed to the banking & financial sector since the 1950's, and to promote the slogan adhering to the national project of supporting women's needs in the private sector.

 Mr. Younis J. Al Sayed, Takaful Chief Executive along with Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Othman - Deputy General Manager and Mrs. Noor Al-Nasser -Corporate Communication Manager  warmly greeted Mrs. Sabah Almoayyed, SCW Consultant in Integrating the Needs of Women in the Private Sector; Dr. Dunya Ahmed - Director of the National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini Women and Acting Director General Manager of Policy and Development, and  Mrs. Rania Al Jarf - Director of Mainstreaming of Women's Needs.

The meeting focus was to introduce the national model for the integration of women's needs and the role played by private sector institutions in particular the banking and financial institutions sector in the activation process. In depth discussions were held on the nature of the initiatives that could be adopted by Takaful International Company to support the integration of women's needs. This would provide equal opportunities to highlight the positive practices in the banking and financial field which would develop the status of women in the concerned sector and have a clear impact on the development of the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with international standards.

 It is worth mentioning that Takaful International Company was founded in 1989 as the first Islamic insurance company which provides all services in line with Sharia'a principles and with constant growth managed to occupy a prominent place in Bahrain's insurance market. The company has also received Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award, during its third session for enabling Bahraini women in the private sector category. Takaful International Company is the first in the insurance sector to receive this award, which is the culmination of the efforts of the company's keenness on enhancing the role of Bahraini women to attain leadership positions and to take active participation to achieve overall development and improve the company's success.
