Long term care unit is now available at Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital

The unit welcomes adult and children who require treatment of various conditions over an extended period of time

Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital Branch recently opened a comprehensive Long Term Care Unit to add to the array of healthcare services it has been delivering to the community of Al Ain since its establishment in 2006.

The unit welcomes adult and children who require treatment of various conditions over an extended period of time.  Eligible patients include those with neuromuscular conditions, neurological conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, metabolic disorders and chronic respiratory failure, among others.

Patients staying at Mediclinic Al Ain Hospital Branch now have access to the full continuum of care and do not need to transfer to another location to continue their treatment even in emergency situations.

The hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical services under one roof, including emergency medicine, cardiology services, complex neurosurgical procedures and an intensive care unit. The hospital now provides long-term care to patients including physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy, using the expertise of internationally trained and skilled clinicians.

Leading the long term care service is a multidisciplinary group of clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals with extensive experience in this field. A clinical liaison is also available to coordinate with families and provide them with all the information they need.
