Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, has rolled out its vaccination programme in coordination with Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health and Prevention in order to support the UAE’s fight against COVID-19. The inoculation drive was held on the 2nd of February 2021, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at Azizi’s offices, in the API Auditorium, Sheikh Zayed Road, where a station was set up for employees and their families to get vaccinated conveniently and free of charge. As per the regulations of the medication, two doses are required.

Azizi Developments, which made available the Sinophram vaccine, launched this initiative in line with UAE's plan to vaccinate more than 50 per cent of the country's population by the end of March 2021. The UAE government is all set to distribute and administer vaccine doses against COVID-19 as quickly as possible.

The first dose was administered following an assessment of the employees’ health and the second will be given after a period of between 21 to 28 days.

In his comments, Mr Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, said: “2020 has been an unprecedented and at times challenging year for us all. We, at Azizi Developments, are a family - the well-being of our employees, customers, and the wider society is of paramount importance to us. We have to take initiative and be at the forefront of the vaccine drive to ensure that the UAE's aim of stemming the spread of the virus is achieved in a timely manner.”

He added: “We are working together as a force to aid in the swift recovery of the UAE's property and tourism sectors and encourage our employees, as well as all of our stakeholders, to be part of this drive. We take this moment to thank His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, as well as all of the UAE authorities, for their exemplary efforts in keeping us save and our spirits high in these challenging times.”

Through the immunisation programme, the number of cases, hospitalisations, and deaths will be reduced allowing UAE residents to return to the pre-COVID normal, quickly.

According to an announcement made by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the country has achieved a vaccine distribution rate of 25.12 doses per 100 people.
