Yellow could be golden for Christie's. The auction house hopes to unload this 20 carat yellow diamond ring at up to $6 million when it goes up for bid next week in Geneva.
Also going under the hammer: a purplish pink diamond ring that could lure bids of up to $5 million ... and the potentially internally flawless D-colored diamond ring estimated at between $5 and $7 million.
Colored stones are in.
Christie's international head of jewelry, Rahul Kadakia:
SOUNDBITE: RAHUL KADAKIA, INTERNATIONAL HEAD OF JEWELRY, CHRISTIE'S, (ENGLISH) SAYING:
"The colored diamond market is going to continue to get stronger as we see fewer of the rare stones coming up for sale and more demand between collectors and also members of the trade."
The lattice structure refracts light to produce colored stones like these. Naturally colored diamonds form when they were created under great pressure in the earths' crust.
