Cairo –   The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has launched an international tender to purchase an unspecified amount of wheat to be delivered between 11 and 31 October, Reuters reported late on Monday.

The state-run body is looking to buy wheat from the US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Poland, Argentine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Paraguay, and Serbia, GASC's Deputy Head, Ahmed Youssef, said.

The deadline for bid submission is 10:00 GMT on Tuesday, 25 August.

GASC will pay for the wheat through letters of credit payable within 18 days.

On 13 August, GASC bought 415,000 tonnes of Russian wheat.
