Bahrain - The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced that the monthly issue of the short-term Islamic leasing bonds, Sukuk Al Ijara, has been oversubscribed by 358 per cent.

Subscriptions worth BD93.186 million were received for the BD26m issue, which carries a maturity of 182 days.

The expected return on the issue, which begins today and matures on February 4 next year, is 2.50 per cent compared to 2.58 of the previous issue on July 9.

The Sukuk Al Ijara are issued by the CBB on behalf of the government.
