Riyadh – Mubasher: Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI) has begun working on a chlorine production project in Jubail Industrial City, according to a company statement to the Saudi Stock Exchange on Monday.

BCI noted that the project’s cost has increased from a previously-estimated SAR 520 million to SAR 685 million.

The project will have a production capacity of 70,000 tonnes per year.

Moreover, the company revealed that it has received all the needed equipment, noting that 35% of the project has been completed.

The project is expected to be completed by March 2021.
