HAMBURG - Algerian state agency ONAB purchased about 35,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced from optional origins in a tender which closed on Thursday, European traders said on Friday.
The corn was thought likely to be sourced from the European Union or Ukraine.
Offers in the tender ranged between $194.75 a tonne c&f and $201 a tonne c&f, with the purchase said to have been made close to the $194.75 a tonne c&f level.
Shipment was sought in the second half of March.
