MANAMA - More than 90% of students in Bahrain’s public schools attended classes in person yesterday according to a study plan, said Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi.

He reaffirmed that the ministry was keen on implementing precautionary measures according to the Covid-19 Alert Level Traffic Light System.

The minister visited schools in Sitra yesterday, met educational and administrative staff as well as students, and was briefed on the projects the schools are implementing.

“The physical attendance across all schools was registered at 91% on October 11, which was the predicted percentage according to a study plan,” said Dr Al Nuaimi in a statement. “The ministry is keen on providing educational services to all students and this will be done in schools or remotely through digital applications, the educational portal or televised lessons.”

The schools the minister visited included the Sitra Secondary School for Girls, the Awal Intermediate School for Boys and the Granada Primary School for Girls.
