Ajman Municipality has launched intensified weekend inspections in the emirate’s parks to ensure that visitors are adhering to mandatory health and safety measures in order to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Agriculture and Public Gardens Department, said the department has prepared a clear and comprehensive plan this year that implements regulations to preserve the environment and contribute to a healthy atmosphere in the emirate.

Park visitors are strictly instructed to abide by the precautionary measures in place. Those without masks will be barred from entry.

He added that municipality inspectors in the parks have observed a number of violations, including the damaging and breaking of sanitary ware, external fences, games, seats, and umbrellas.

Many park visitors have been fined for littering as well as for damaging the landscape.

Al Muhairi also noted that the use of shisha (hookah) is prohibited in all public facilities and parks, as it negatively affects health in general and children in particular.

He urged the public to cooperate with municipality inspectors to avoid hefty fines and adhere to all regulations.

The municipality is making great efforts to promote the emirate as one of the greenest cities in the world, and allow its residents and visitors enjoy a pure and safe atmosphere.
