RIYADH Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health has announced on Friday that it will allow citizens and residents over the age of 75 to get COVID-19 vaccines directly without booking an appointment.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses that have been administered through 587 vaccine centers in all regions of the Kingdom is approaching 6,000,000 doses, according to a statement from the ministry.

The ministry called on everyone to come forward to register their names for vaccination on the Sehhaty application so as to preserve the health and safety of all members of the society.

It also underlined the need to adhere to precautionary measures to stem the spread of the pandemic. The ministry warned of a surge in coronavirus infections while attributing this to the lack of compliance with the precautionary measures and preventive protocols.
