RIYADH Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking in cooperation with its international partners were highlighted by the Kingdom’s anti-narcotics chief during a meeting of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, Austria.

CND is the central policy-making body for the UN drug control system, which meets on an annual basis.

Participating in the 64th session of the CND, which is being held virtually from April 12-16, Director General of General Directorate of Narcotics Control Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Qarni underlined Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the international treaties and agreements related to drug control and the importance of organizing and coordinating the international efforts to confront them.

Al-Qarni, who is heading the Kingdom's delegation at the CND annual session, underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation among law enforcement authorities of all countries to exchange information on drug smuggling cells and networks.
