AMMAN — Interior Minister Mazen Faraiah, during a phone call with his Syrian counterpart Mohammed Al Rahmoun, stressed the necessity of reoperating the Jaber border crossing with Syria at full capacity, highlighting the crossing’s strategic importance for the two countries.

Rahmoun welcomed the gesture, expressing Damascus’ readiness to take the necessary measures to this end, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The two sides agreed that executive authorities on the two sides of the border crossing enhance field coordination to move closer to reoperating the border crossing at full capacity and achieve the envisioned goals within the approved medical protocol.

Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh made a visit to the border crossing on July 8.
