Dubai: H.E. Luigi Di Maio, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Social Policy of the Italian Republic will lead a 200 company-strong delegation to the UAE today, to meet with local government officials and business leaders to discuss new business opportunities and strengthen economic ties with the UAE. 

During the three-day business mission from 14 to 16 April, H.E. Luigi Di Maio will jointly host the Italy-UAE Business Forum with H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy of the UAE tomorrow, Monday 15 April, from 8.30am at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai.

The Italy-UAE Business Forum will include three panel discussions taking place simultaneously between 9am and 11am focusing on Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Environment and ITC: 

  • Panel on Infrastructure: UAE Infrastructure development. Current and future strategies and
  • Panel on Energy, Water and Environment: Opportunities and challenges for strategic partnerships with Italian companies in the evolving UAE energy sector.
  • Panel on ITC: UAE future agenda for digital transformation and smart cities

Following the conclusion of the three panel discussions, H.E. Luigi Di Maio and H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri will address the audience, which will be followed by the signature of the MoUs and Joint Declarations.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Gianpaolo Bruno, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan said, “Italian companies have developed technologies to answer some of the contemporary problems of today occurring in each of these three business sectors. Using our extensive research and experience, we have a number of projects operating successfully in Italy and across the world. The Italy-UAE Business Forum will look at new opportunities to implement these solutions and further support the growth and development of the UAE.”
