Abu Dhabi, UAE: BAE Systems will present a range of technologically enhanced defence solutions across land, sea, air, cyber, and training at IDEX 2019, which runs from 17-21 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The renowned BAE Systems solutions on display at IDEX 2019 provide sophisticated and resilient protection to people, national security, critical infrastructure, and borders. In addition, BAE Systems will showcase its growing array of partnerships that underline the company’s commitment to a sustained presence in the region.

Julian Donald, BAE Systems’ Managing Director for the Middle East, said, “BAE Systems is immensely proud to be exhibiting at IDEX 2019, which provides an ideal platform for the Company to build on its long-lasting partnerships and ties in the Middle East.

“The technologies and solutions that BAE Systems will showcase at IDEX 2019 allow governments to protect their citizens and achieve their national visions and strategic agendas. At the forefront of this is the creation of sustainable opportunities to transfer technology and ‘know-how’ to the region.”

Partnership creation has been a central pillar of BAE Systems’ presence in the Middle East for many years. Key examples include the four Kingdom Partner Companies (KPC) that deliver technologies, training and capability into Saudi Arabia.

Other partnerships that will be on display at IDEX 2019 include the internship programme with Mubadala, which is in its fifth year and has provided Emirati Engineering graduates with real-life practical experiences at BAE Systems’ facilities in the UK.

Mr Donald added: “The Mubadala programme provides interns with advanced skills and technical knowledge through practical hands-on training, all of which are crucial to enable them to contribute to the UAE’s industrial development.”

A number of BAE Systems’ products will be on display at IDEX 2019, including the M777 Ultra Lightweight Howitzer, the M109A6 Self-Propelled Howitzer, Digital Light Engine Head-Up Display (DLE HUD), and the APKWS® Laser-Guided Rocket.

Visitors can also see the Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures (ATIRCM) System and Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), both of which can be retrofitted to fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft.

Naval protection remains a cornerstone of BAE Systems’ presence at IDEX, with several solutions making an appearance on the stand, including the 40 Mk4 Naval Gun System.

BAE Systems’ commitment to regional sovereign aerial defence capabilities continues, with both the Eurofighter Typhoon and HAWK Advanced Jet Trainer.
