UAEs SDIC appoints Sharpoorji Pallonji as main contractor for $408mln development

UAE – Saadiyat Development and Investment Company (SDIC) on Tuesday announced it has appointed Shapoorji Pallonji Middle East as the main contractor for the AED 1.5375 billion Qaryat al Hidd development on Saadiyat Island.

The announcement has been made by SDIC’s board members; Hamdan Bin Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Hamad Al Darmaki, and CEO and managing director Rashid Al Zaabi, according to a press release.

Accordingly, Sharpoorji Pallonji joins international real estate consultants Drees & Sommer, international design consultants B+H Architects Corp, and international architectural and engineering multi-disciplinary consultants Khatib & Alami in achieving the development.

Spanning over an area of 160,000 square metres, Qaryat al Hidd development comprises of two separate residential developments; Sunrise and Sunset, featuring 12 four- and five-storey buildings with over 900 luxury apartments, including a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

Qaryat al Hidd, which is a part of Hidd al Saadiyat masterplan development on Saadiyat Island, will offer various amenities, including parks, playgrounds, shops, restaurants as well as a range of five-star resorts and world-class marina, and yacht club.
