In efforts to develop Musandam governorate, Madayn has invited bids for construction of roads and related infrastructure and utility works at Mahas Industrial City in the wilayat of Khasab, Musandam governorate.

A statement issued by Madayn said that the deadline for submission of bids is July 22, 2021.

These efforts are in line with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s directive to develop Musandam governorate.

Following Royal Directives, the Council of Ministers approved a package last week aimed at the development of Musandam governorate, including a decision to declare the area of Mahas an economic zone with the objective of establishing and regulating light and medium industries, along with building storage facilities to bolster Port of Khasab’s activities.

Other measures approved include establishing an integrated system and a strategic reservoir to achieve security in food and medicinal drug stocks, convert Port of Khasab into a logistics hub in a bid to provide services and facilities that stimulate imports, exports and open direct export routes, and setting up specialised economic and tourism zones to promote investment in tourism and related logistics activity.

These are in addition to the establishment of a branch of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Musandam.
