Cairo – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that Egypt needs EGP 150-160 billion to reclaim 500,000 feddans in Sinai, according to state-run TV.

This came during the inauguration of the Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment plant at a cost of EGP 20 billion on Monday.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that the country aims to cultivate 670,000 feddans in Sinai, noting that Sinai currently has 200,00 feddans of cultivated land.

El-Sisi affirmed the need for water conservation by implementing several projects, including the canal lining project which has a cost of about EGP 80 billion.
