AMMAN China supports Jordans participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong said on Thursday, calling for action on the new development opportunities to push bilateral relations forward.

During an event organised by the embassy on the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of Chinas (CPC) founding, the diplomat drew attention to the importance of enhancing Jordanian-Sino strategic communication to strengthen the two nations friendship and cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also expressed Chinas readiness to align development strategies with the Jordanian side, to enhance complementary benefits and to strengthen cooperation in the fields of energy, communications, infrastructure, construction and production capacity. He added that his country encourages investing in Jordan.

The diplomat also said that a fair solution to the Palestinian cause is fundamental to achieve lasting regional peace and security. He highlighted Beijing and Ammans adherence to justice and peace and both sides firm support for the fair Palestinian demands.

He further called for enhancing communication and coordination over regional issues, importantly the Palestinian cause, as well as unifying efforts to instill peace and resolve the problems of the century.

Jordan, with its unique stature and considerable influence in the region, is a key regional partner, the ambassador said.

He expressed his countrys readiness to work with Arab countries, including Jordan, to make the first China-Arab Summit in 2022.

The summit will be a window of opportunity for China to enhance its strategy and actions and to move ahead with the Belt and Road Initiative, according to the diplomat.

Director of Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ambassador Malek Twaal expressed congratulations on the CPCs 100th anniversary, highlighting the Jordanian-Chinese historical ties that are rapidly moving forward.

He also expressed the Kingdoms appreciation of Chinas supportive stance in the peace process and Chinas efforts to provide Jordan with COVID-19 vaccines.
