Besides the big companies' and institutions' initiatives at COMEX 2015, Omani school students showcase some smart innovations. Robots created by Omani school students look special among all these technologies and innovations. The support provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE), represented  by  the Department of Development and Educational Technologies (DDET), motivates creative students to be IT geniuses and helps them to participate and compete at both international and local levels.

Quba' School for Basic Education (5-10), is one of the schools participating in the school innovations corner at COMEX2015, presents a unique robot, named The Space Robot. The project is about a robot that works to reduce the pollution in the space and measure the humidity and temperature inside the spaceship.

Iman Al Rubaie, Sara Al Rushaidi, and Noor Al Ghdani implemented the whole project and its programming under the supervision of their teacher, Laila Al Sa'di. Speaking about the tasks handled by the Space Robot, Iman, an 8grade student said "The robot does complicated tasks performed by the crew like humidity and temperature measurement."

It is worth mentioning that this project participated in the tournament organized by the World Robot Olympiad national committee in Oman and won the first place in September last year; therefore it was nominated to represent Oman in the World Robot Olympiad at Russia in 2014. Competing with a big number of participating projects from various countries, the Space Robot project won the sixth place among other 45 projects. Iman Al Rubaie added, "We really feel proud of ourselves that we placed Oman's name  in the frontier,  as  it was the only Arab country to win such a prestigious place". She continued, "Our ambition is to achieve the first place and we are able to make it". Their goal now is to improve the Space Robot by adding more features.
