The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the infrastructure for Landscaping the 1st Interchange of the Sheikh Zayed Road Project, linking the Business Bay district with the SZR and Al Wasl Road, covering a total area of 14 hectares.

"The RTA has completed all infrastructural works of the project together with the associated works such as irrigation pumps chamber, integrated subsidiary irrigation network, agricultural soil, electromechanical works for decorative lighting of pathways & trees, and footpath as well as lanes needed for carrying out periodic maintenance operations," said Nazim Saeed, Director of Roads, Traffic & Roads Agency, RTA.

"The project's contract covers landscaping the 1st Interchange, Al Sukook Road, and some areas at the SZR and Safa Road leading to Al Wasl Road. A team of specialist engineers is currently handing over landscaped areas of the Project spanning 14 hectares of greens to the concerned department at the Dubai Municipality.

"The RTA attaches utmost attention to roads landscaping in keeping with its strategic goals of environmental safety and sustainability, particularly in key locations of road projects undertaken by the Traffic and Roads Agency," explained Nazim.

"The RTA has a social responsibility of looking after the welfare of people in the Emirate by undertaking projects that turn streets into gorgeous and eye-catching sceneries besides adding to the glamour of the city. It is keen on carrying out its share of spreading greeneries at world-class standards. It pays particular attention to ensure that such works are aligned with the functional & economic aspects as well as the requirements of traffic safety for road users. Such efforts will ultimately enhance the concept of sustainability and contribute to realizing RTA's vision of providing Safe and Smooth Transport for All," stated the Director of Roads, at RTA Traffic & Roads Agency.
