Kuwait has told its government institutions to officially publish their project tenders three months before they are to be issued, a local newspaper reported on Sunday.

The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) issued a circular making it compulsory for all public establishments to publish planned tenders in the official gazette to give time to all firms to bid for their contracts, the Arabic language daily Alanba said.

The circular asked government and semi-government establishments to “publish details of their tenders in the official gazette or the official website of the tender issuer.”

“Tenders for the projects or invitations for pre-qualification by interested companies must be published at least 90 days before the tender is to be issued,” the report said.

It said the circular, issued by CAPT’s acting Secretary General Osama Al-Duaij, stipulated tender details must include tender number and subject, date of issuance, execution period, type of contract and other relevant details.
