Riyadh - Senior officials of the Gulf region's power and water sectors have explored the possibility and scope of establishing a water grid between the member states.

The deliberations were held on Thursday during 29th Ministerial Committee Meeting for co-operation in electricity and water in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Qatari side at the meeting was led by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada.

Discussions were also held on a electricity linkage project, unified water strategy and some of the other new projects involving the GCC states.

The ministerial meeting where final drafts were prepared was chaired by Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation president and senior engineer Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari.
