"While many industries are suffering from the decline of oil prices obviously impacting any kind of investment decisions, not just IT, we at NetApp believe it is crucial that events like the IDC Middle East CIO Summit take place and that we attend,"said Fadi Kanafani, Regional Director Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan at NetApp.

He added: "NetApp's goal at this summit is to demonstrate added value to our customers and partners by discussing how we can help them to protect or enhance their current technology or solutions without necessarily impacting Capex. NetApp will also emphasize on services and on its video surveillance technologies to support customers in theregion. Security will remain a key topic, regardless of economics, and the same goes for protecting or being able to create value from a company's most important assets - their data."

In addition, NetApp Data ONTAP®, the world's #1 Open Networked Branded Storage Operating System will be discussed. Data ONTAP is a hybrid cloud solution thatdelivers a unified storage platform and enables unrestricted, secure data movement across multiple cloud environments thatpaves the way for Software-Defined Data Centers, offering advanced performance, availability, and efficiency. Clustered Data ONTAP provides a next-generation storage solution that delivers non-disruptive operations and massive scale that can accommodate mixed workloads and multiple SLAs on a shared infrastructure, with support for high-speed applications as well as large content repositories.

Jyoti Lalchandani, Group VP & Regional MD, IDC Middle East, Africa & Turkey, commented, "There can be little doubt that the 3rd Platform of computing is now in full swing. Built on the pillars of cloud, big data, mobility, and social business, this platform will account for one-third of all IT spending in 2015 and 100% of the market's growth. The industry sits on the precipice of fundamental change, and with the clock rapidly ticking down, the time for CIOs to act is now."

NetApp aims for a seamless Hybrid Cloud Data Management and believes that the data management elements in different parts of a hybrid cloud must be connected and work together to form a coherent, integrated, and interoperable system. This "data fabric" enables data to be consistently managed, transported seamlessly from one part of the cloud to another. It also enables enterprises to apply consistent policies and services to the data in the hybrid cloud regardless of the application, technology or cloud infrastructure provider. Some critical technology components that bring the NetApp Data Fabric vision to life include:

• Clustered Data ONTAP 8.3 - A Proven Foundation for Cloud Data Management

• Cloud ONTAP - Enterprise-Class Data Management for the Hybrid Cloud

• OnCommand Cloud Manager - Efficient and Easy Provisioning for the Cloud
