Dubai, UAE; 30 January 2015

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received Zhang Yi, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai, accompanied by Harry Du, Managing Director of Sunten LKE Power, and Yu Tao, President of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation in the Middle East. The meeting is one of a number of visits by diplomatic and consular missions to DEWA. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Abdullah, Senior Manager of External Communications, and other DEWA officials.

Al Tayer welcomed the delegation and emphasised the importance of promoting cooperation and joint work between DEWA and leading Chinese companies in the energy and renewable energy sectors. He reviewed the latest projects and achievements of DEWA, both locally and globally, adding that DEWA strives to strengthen its energy and water infrastructure to meet Dubai's development needs.

The Chinese delegation expressed interest in investing in the renewable and solar energy sector in Dubai and to collaborate with DEWA in developing the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The Chinese delegation thanked Al Tayer and the DEWA team for the warm welcome and the opportunity to explore joint cooperation and promote bilateral relations.
