In a landmark event held at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group (ESAG) and British American Tobacco (BAT) celebrated the 50th anniversary of their successful partnership. The ceremony paid homage to the long-standing history of the two powerhouses, from when they joined forces in 1964. This alliance was cemented based on the fundamentals that are shared by both companies and built upon common values, such as providing consumers with choices and quality products. ESAG has been a cornerstone in BAT's strategy for the UAE and has helped shape the company's business throughout its journey in the past five decades.
Commemorating the golden jubilee were His Excellency Easa Saleh Al Gurg and key members of the ESAG team including Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, Managing Director; Abdulla Al Gurg, Group General Manager and Easa Farid Al Gurg, General Manager, Trading and Projects; along with senior management of BAT Middle East (BAT ME). The leadership team of BAT ME included Attila Kundrak, Area Director for BAT Middle East; Bassem Lotfy, Finance Director for BAT Middle East; and Antony Hooper, Country Manager for BAT in the Arabian Gulf. Employees of both ESAG and BAT were present at the ceremony to celebrate the familial spirit that binds the two companies.
On the occasion, Abdulla Al Gurg, ESAG Group General Manager, said, "The Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group (ESAG) is proud to count British American Tobacco (BAT) among our valued partners. ESAG is the sole distributor for BAT brands in the UAE for 50 years. Al Gurg Cigarette division with its distribution channel, services almost 9,000 outlets across the country. The success of this alliance is attributed to the commitment both companies have to the region.
