27 January 2015 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates): The American Hospital Dubai has appointed Mr. Peter Makowski as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the next phase of the hospital's development, including continued expansion of clinical services and facilities at the campus - including a new acute rehabilitation center - and the first satellite primary care clinic, based in Dubai Media City.

Peter Makowski is a highly experienced hospital leader having held a range of senior positions and led with distinction a number of healthcare institutions in the USA, most recently as Hospital Administrator at the Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Mr Makowski holds a Masters degree in Public Health, Health Services Management from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a member of several professional bodies including the American College of Healthcare Executives.

With the new facilities and services, the hospital continues its ongoing physician recruitment plan, which will extend the number of American Board Certified or equivalent practicing physicians at the Hospital, to well over 100.

The hospital's new bed tower is currently rolling out new facilities that will create an additional 197 beds in private rooms and suites, transforming the hospital into a 384-bed campus.
