Examining "new" financing from three perspectives at the Capital Club

Dubai - Peer-to-peer lending - a phenomenon that has to some extent lost its novelty in the international financial community - is one that has only fairly recently hit the shores of the Middle East. And, as is so often the case, the UAE is leading the charge.

With the country's very first peer-to-peer lending platform gaining increasing traction from the vital and growing, yet sadly underfunded SME sector, the Capital Club, Dubai's premier private City Club and member of the ENSHAA group of companies, has invited a panel of experts to explore the impact, both in terms of the opportunities and possible pitfalls, of this "new" form of financing, on the way business is being done in Dubai, the Emirates, and ultimately the greater GCC.

Taking place on the 9th of March, the panel will feature Rick Pudner, Chairman, Beehive Group DMCC - the UAE's debut peer-to-peer lending platform; seasoned tech entrepreneurDany El Eid, Founder of pixelbug - the Dubai-based local global technology driven marketing solutions provider; and Patrick Rogers, Lawyer at Jones Day - one of the world's leading law firms. The event is moderated by Capital Club Member and Founder of Envestors MENA, David Moleshead.

Emma Cullen, Capital Club Dubai General Manager, remarked, "Finding new and innovative forms of financing is always a hot topic in any business community, and the arrival of peer-to-peer lending in the UAE is one that has engendered a great deal of debate, both for and against. Which is why, as a nexus for Dubai's business community, we are looking forward to giving our Members and their guests a chance to gain insights from three very distinct perspectives on the subject."
