The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has doubled the operational efficiency and awareness outreach of 22 of its health care centers, which were established over the past few years across Saudi Arabia. The initiative is valued at SR100 million ($26.7 million) and is part of the telecom giant’s partnership with the Ministry of Health, aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID-19 disease, as well as its commitment to long-lasting social initiatives.

Having been constructed and equipped by the STC, the 22 health care centers provide services to more than 5 million beneficiaries and patients since their launch. STC aims to increase the efficiency of the centers’ infrastructure by enabling digital services, such as advanced cloud computing-based health services and other digital solutions that the company provides to medical centers and hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health.

22 - health care centers established and equipped by the STC provide services to more than 5 million beneficiaries and patients.

“Such solutions are of great medical value across the world, especially when it comes to 5G-linked micro-procedures. They further support existing services, such as the medical imaging platform PAX and medical imaging technology EMI, as they connect the largest possible number of hospitals to the cloud. For instance, they make it possible for the closest available expert to analyze images and provide a diagnosis. These solutions will be used in dozens of hospitals across the Kingdom to improve the efficiency of the services they provide to their patients,” a statement said.

Additionally, STC and the Ministry of Health are working on raising awareness among the public on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus as part of a joint campaign launched across digital and traditional media outlets. More than 1.7 billion messages have been sent over the past six weeks in 10 languages. Similar campaigns have been simultaneously launched in Kuwait and Bahrain led by STC affiliates in the two countries.

STC offers a variety of ICT solutions and digital services in several categories including telecommunications, IT, financial technology, digital media, cybersecurity, and other advanced digital solutions, enabling digital transformation nationally and regionally.
