Dubai: One of the highlights of Friday’s ‘Pinoy Pride 32: Duel in Dubai 2’ at the Dubai World Trade Centre will be the felicitation of Donnie ‘Snake’ Nietes for being the longest-serving undefeated Filipino boxer.

From his 41 bouts so far, the 33-year-old has an amazing record of 36 wins, including 21 knockouts becoming the only Filipino so far in the ‘Pinoy Pride Hall of Fame’.

Nietes is the current WBO and The Ring Light Flyweight World Champion. He is also a former WBO Minimumweight World Champion. Nietes worked as a utility man at the Antonio Lopez Aldeguer boxing gym before taking up boxing after being encouraged to turn pro.

“He truly deserves this award for his mere longevity in the sport,” Peter A. Musngi, Consultant, ABS-CBN, told Gulf News.

“This is the first time-ever that we will be presenting such an award. I doubt even a legend like Flash Elorde has received such an award,” he added.
