Dubai, UAE: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised a virtual ceremony to honour its strategic partners from the public and private sectors. This is part of DEWA’s efforts to recognise its partners’ efforts and make them happier. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, DEWA’s Executive Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents, as well as representatives from the government and private organisations and the media, attended the event.

In his keynote speech at the event, Al Tayer said that the annual event DEWA organises to honour its strategic partners, has a special importance this year because of the exceptional global circumstances.

“Thanks to the vision of its wise leadership, the UAE has turned challenges into promising opportunities in different areas and presented a global role model in handling crises effectively and competently. At Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, guide us in all our initiatives and projects, which were uninterrupted last year. We have made remarkable achievements in cooperation with our public and private sector partners,” said Al Tayer.

“The Eight Principles of Governance in Dubai announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum show that Dubai’s growth is driven by three factors: a credible, resilient and excellent government; an active, fair and open private sector; and publicly owned flagship companies that compete globally and drive the local economy. At DEWA, we have strategic partnerships with local and international organisations from the public and private sectors. DEWA received the ISO 44001 Collaborative Management Standard certification from the British Standards Institute (BSI), to become the first organisation in the Middle East and Africa to get this certificate for its excellence in managing effective strategic collaborative relationships at the highest international standards. In 2020, DEWA’s partner-happiness score was 91.74%, and the happiness of government organisations was 93.5%,” added Al Tayer.

“I thank DEWA’s partners and commend their efforts to implement projects to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. I hope our partnerships continue to benefit everyone. Together we will contribute to the comprehensive development of Dubai and make the UAE the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071,” concluded Al Tayer.

“We are proud of our strategic partnership with DEWA, which has contributed, over the years, to shaping the future of the energy sector,” said HE Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the efforts of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,” said HE Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar).

“Machines and systems are just tools but it’s how we work together and make the most of our resources,” said Dietmar Siersdorfer, Managing Director of Siemens Energy in the Middle East and UAE.

“DEWA attaches great importance to recognising its strategic partners from the government and private sectors. DEWA considers them partners in its achievements, and is committed to establishing constructive relationships in a motivating environment that encourages cooperation and joint work. This stems from its strategy to achieve integration and concerted efforts among government and private organisations and other related entities. These are key pillars for making achievements and continuing success and excellence,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communications at DEWA.

DEWA’s partners include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Ministry of Community Development, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Etihad Water & Electricity, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (RTA), and Watani Al Emarat Foundation.
