Students and entrepreneurs from institutes and organizations around the UAE can take part in the competition as individual or teams

The proposed concept must qualify as an iconic tourism attraction for the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development authority (RAKTDA) today announced the launch of an exciting product concept creation competition, inviting participants from institutes and organizations across the country to submit their creative designs for the Emirate’s next iconic adventure attraction on Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest mountain peak, giving them the chance to win an outstanding AED 100,000 prize.

The competition is open to participants of institutes and organizations from across the UAE and Ras Al Khaimah in particular. Using Jebel Jais as the location, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority is giving the various institutes and organizations free design reign, accepting paintings, sketches, photography, digital imaging, and any other form of graphical representation to illustrate their vision.

Bearing in mind the significance of the attraction, the design must enhance the touristic appeal of the landmark, while highlighting local culture and heritage. In addition to this, given the digitally driven tourism market, the participant pitches should inspire visitors to share their experiences across social media accounts. Finally, aligned with the efforts invested by the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in moving towards greener operations, the attraction must be sustainable in nature.

Jebel Jais forms an ideal location due to its popularity and because its already home to many of the Emirate’s key adventure attraction including the Jebel Jais Flight: The World’s Longest Zipline, the Jebel Jais Via Ferrata, Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Park and recently opened Jebel Jais Zipline Tour. Creative submissions will not only have to include unique elements, but also add to the existing adventure appeal of the mountain.

The positioning of the proposed product idea pitches, should highlight the Emirate’s diverse landscape, encompassing of lush mangrove trees, undulating terracotta desert and awe-inspiring vistas of the majestic Hajar mountains”.

“Through this competition, we want to give the youth of the UAE who want to share their passion and creativity, a say in the next anchor adventure attraction that will draw guests to the Emirate. We look forward to receiving all the submissions and gaining a new and fresh perspective into what the future of adventure tourism could look like on Jebel Jais”.

Participants can submit their nomination to www.jebeljais.ae/think-for-the-peak/ by the 20th November 2019, to be considered and get a chance to win AED 100,000. The judging panel comprised of leaders of Tourism, Culture, Investment and Development authorities and entities will review all application, with the winner to be announced on 22nd December 2019.
