DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE) – From HPE Pointnext to NASA, Reimagine Dubai has been abuzz with exciting collaborations and announcements.

The day-long event provided a platform to more than 700 decision makers, from the UAE’s leading public and private sector, to gain new perspectives to drive the digital transformation within their organisations, industries and ultimately the economy.

Johannes Koch, Managing Director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa and as Vice President of Sales for this region, delivered the opening keynote where he stressed on the importance of innovation to succeed in a today’s world where everything computes.

Fabio Fontana, HPE’s Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East, shared insights on how the company was simplifying Hybrid IT, innovating with Intelligent Edge and bringing them all together with HPE Pointnext services.

The discussion also looked at artificial intelligence (AI), where HPE recently announced new offerings to help customers ramp up, optimize and scale AI usage across business functions to drive outcomes such as better demand forecasting, improved operational efficiency and increased sales.

While AI holds great promise for businesses, with increased labour productivity and consumer demand, current adoption rates are low. The new HPE offerings enable customers to explore, evolve and expand AI applications aligned to their business and industry needs.

Commenting on operating in a data-centric computable world, Fabio Fontana said, “Today, we are experiencing the next great inflection in technology – one that brings together unfathomable amounts of data from the analog world with the vast amounts of previously stored data to generate a new level of understanding about the world around us.

“Reimagine serves to enable businesses to learn how to take advantage of the next big idea and seize new business opportunities to stay ahead. We are well-positioned to help our Middle East customers make AI and blockchain work for their enterprise, regardless of what level they are at when it comes to adoption of these new technologies.”

The event delegates also got a chance to witness the first product in HPE’s Mission Critical blockchain family, a solution that helps customers deploy blockchain quickly and easily and with the flexibility of a hybrid approach. Enterprises, particularly those in regulated industries, are finding that generic infrastructure and public cloud environments cannot support the blockchain requirements they need in terms of performance, security, scalability and resiliency. HPE’s Mission Critical DLT solution is a part of the company’s overall approach to bring enterprise-grade capability to blockchain workloads. The solution is offered on HPE Integrity NonStop platforms, which process two out of every three credit card transactions in the world.

The event also included a CEO panel discussion on ‘The reality of digital transformation’ moderated by IDC and attended by CEOs from the UAE and Egypt.

Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding was signed between HPE and Juma Al Ghaith, the Board Chairman of DUTECH and Executive Director of Customs Development Division at Dubai Customs and Ayaz Maqbool, General Manager of DUTECH, wherein HPE will build a data center and help the company leverage on the latest technology as part of its digital transformation focus in the UAE.

Commenting on the agreement, Juma Al Ghaith said, “Over the last 30 years, DUTECH has played an integral role in helping our customers expand and meet their business needs. As part of our redefined growth strategy, our agreement with HPE will help us to ramp up our operations which will help drive better operational efficiency and increased sales for our customers.”

HPE continues to bring a wealth of global experience to the Middle East and has been the technology partner of choice for the region’s public and private sectors for more than 30 years.
