UAE residents who take anticoagulant medication, be warned.

In a slew of recent pharmaceutical suspensions, the Ministry of Health and Prevention has also suspended the registration process for a regionally produced anticoagulant drug, according to an Al Bayan report.

Pedovex, in its 75mg dosage, manufactured by Saudi-based Tabuk Pharmaceuticals, has been suspended and recalled from the shelves by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. The pharmaceutical did not meet with all bioequivalence health standards of the original product.

The Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) requested the locally authorised agent of the company to withdraw all specimens of the suspended product from Abu Dhabi markets.

Pharmacies were also requested to return all Pevodex products to the supplier. Healthcare professionals are urged to report any adverse side effects caused by the drug.
