The UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has updated compulsory PCR test procedures for employees who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

The authority had announced earlier that unvaccinated federal government employees have to mandatorily take a PCR test every seven days.

In its latest update, the FAHR said recipients of the first dose of the vaccine have to take the PCR tests every seven days as well. This will continue till they take their second dose, the FAHR added.

They need to furnish evidence of having received their second dose to be exempted from the requirement.

Unvaccinated employees

Unvaccinated employees have to take the test every seven days at their own expense.

Employees with health conditions that prevent them from taking the Covid vaccine will need to undergo a PCR test. However, the expense will be borne by the entity they work for.

Consulting firms, experts

Consultants and experts who are required to attend meetings or be present at government office premises are required to have a negative PCR test result taken no more than three days prior. Fully vaccinated consultants are exempted from this requirement.
