Dubai, United Arab Emirates: On 15th October 2019, Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai will be hosting a fundraising culinary evening in support of Al Jalila Foundation. Executive Chefs from 20 of Marriott International’s properties in the UAE will be coming together to showcase their specialties from their signature restaurants for the initiative.

The Culinary evening supports the 12th edition of Road to Awareness - Marriott International’s annual associate fundraising campaign that has been making a valuable difference to the lives of children for over a decade across the Middle East & Africa. Every year, through Road to Awareness, associates across the Middle East and Africa organize fundraising events to support the vital work charities and organizations, such as medical, rehabilitative, educational, and therapeutic, to improve the lives of children.

This is the fifth consecutive year in which Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai will be hosting the initiative. The culinary event will take place in the Starlight Ballroom and will be once again hosted by British TV presenter, Lee Clark, who will lead a raffle draw and auction.

Just like in past years, Sheraton Grand is aiming to raise AED 210,000 ($57,000) during the evening. 100% of the funds raised through ticket sales and the auction will be given to the Al Jalila Foundation in support of the ‘Farah’ project (joy or happiness in Arabic) which will provide financial support for children’s medical treatments in the UAE.

`It gives us great pride to be part of the 12 year long legacy of Road to Awareness and to be participating in this fantastic initiative for the 5th consecutive year. Hosting this prestigious event every year where Marriott’s culinary superstars showcase their signature restaurants, along with the live auction to raise funds for children in need, is definitely the highlight of our year.’ – said Anna Collier, General Manager of Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai.
