Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is planning to construct a museum and an exhibition centre in the Saudi capital Riyadh, a source aware of the project said.

"Zuhair Fayez Partnership has been awarded the conceptual design contract. The project is in the initial stage of development," a source aware of the project details said.

"The main construction contract is expected to be floated by mid-May and bid submission is expected by August 2020," the source told Zawya Projects, adding that the project completion is scheduled for second quarter 2023.

The source estimated the project cost at around $53 million.

The scope of work involves construction of museum building, exhibition centre, assembly hall, office and administration building, press, indoor plaza, outdoor exhibition centre, public entrance plaza and parking facilities.
