MANAMA: Diyar Al Muharraq has started construction work on the Al Oyoun Plaza access road, located West of Deerat Al Oyoun.

The developer of the master-planned island city announced yesterday that work on the project is set to be completed in December this year.

The road comes as an important addition to the internal road network, and will lead to key service facilities in the Deerat Al Oyoun project currently under planning, including Al Oyoun Plaza, a fuel station, a community event hall, and a public health centre.

Diyar Al Muharraq has designated UCO Engineering as the appointed contractor, and AECOM as consultant on infrastructure for the project.

The outlined works set to take place will include the construction of the internal road as well as all secondary infrastructure services, namely the installation of street lights, sewage and rainwater networks, electrical and potable water networks, and the setup of all telecommunication infrastructure.

Upon completion, the road will provide residents and visitors of Deerat Al Oyoun convenient access to key service facilities.
