Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is set to open a new terminal at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, according to GACA’s Twitter.

GACA’s President Abdulhadi Al Mansouri said that the new terminal will be a logistics platform.

The completion of terminals 3 and 4 development at King Khalid Airport is set to be done in 2020, Al Mansouri pointed out.

The announcement took place on the sideline of the third edition of the Saudi Logistics Conference, which kicked off on Sunday.

The total number of travellers through King Khalid Airport is expected to hit 10 million by the beginning of 2020.

Al Mansouri added that he expects the number of travellers to increase with the increase of tourists seeking the Kingdom as a favoured destination.

He stated that technology is playing a significant role in travellers’ experience as it facilitates serving 100 million travellers per year, referring to King Khalid International Airport’s electronic baggage carousel, which transports over 7,000 bags per hour.
