UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has urged Emiratis to postpone their Sri Lanka travel plans due to the security situation.

""The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation urges Emiratis to postpone their current travel plans to Sri Lanka due to the security situation," the ministry said in its official Twitter account.

The ministry called on citizens contact the UAE Embassy in Colombo on +94 112-301-601 or contact the ministry's toll free number on 800-444-44.

The ministry has also requested Emiratis to register in the Twajudi service.

The government had last month issued an advisory calling upon citizens intending not to undertake non-essential travel to Sri Lanka in view of the existing security situation following the terror attacks on April 21.
