Makkah — Acting Emir of Makkah Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz inaugurated on Wednesday a workshop for the development of the Jeddah historical area.

The workshop aims at involving the owners of historical buildings in Jeddah in developing and preserving them.

Their contribution will be taken into consideration in developing the historical area and drawing up a master plan.

A mechanism for a strategic public and private partnership was also discussed for investment opportunities in the area.

The workshop focused on the aspirations of owners and investors, the plans of the pertinent government authorities in developing the historical area.

It also discussed activities and festivals held in the Jeddah historical area.

The authorities briefed the participants on the plans to develop the historical area.

Jeddah Mayoralty presented a paper on the road network leading to the historical area and its plans to develop parts of the historical area.
