Saudi Arabia has invited bids for the construction and operation of a new market in the Western Medina city, the local press reported on Monday.

Bidding for the "Aziziya Souq", with an area of 2,831 square metres, will end on Oct 6, Aliqtisad and other papers said, citing a statement by the Medina Municipality.

"The contract involves the construction and operation of the Souq on a land allotted by the Municipality in Aziziya area...the operation contract is for 25 years," it said.

Contractors interested in bidding for the project can see details and buy bidding documents through the Municipality's website, it added.
