In a first of its kind Public Private Partnership (PPP) endeavor in Qatar's education sector, local firm Barwa Real Estate Group has signed an agreement with Ashghal to develop eight schools in the Gulf country.

The developer said in a stock exchange statement that the agreement forms part of PPP Development Programme - Package 1 with Barwa responsible for developing and maintaining eight schools across the country for a period of 25 years.

Post-construction, the schools would be directly leased to the concerned government authority, securing guaranteed rental income for the developer, according to the statement.
